Okta is scheduled to report its second-quarter results for fiscal 2026 on Tuesday. The company is likely to report “solid” results for the quarter, according to Truist Securities.

The Okta Analyst: Analyst Junaid Siddiqui upgraded the rating from Hold to Buy, while raising the price target from $100 to $125.

The Okta Thesis: The company appears to be nearing the end of its headwinds from seat count and GTM changes, which could abate in the second half of the year, Siddiqui said in the upgrade note.

“We believe Okta is well-positioned to consolidate the identity security market because of their large installed base, their ubiquity within organizations as the leading SSO/MFA vendor, and penetration downmarket, where organizations are more likely to consolidate onto a single platform over choosing best of breed,” the analyst wrote.

There could be further traction in IGA and PAM and further upside from Agentic AI, he stated.

On Wednesday, Google unveiled its Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, loaded with AI features that feel less like gimmicks and more like tools you’d actually use. Real-time translation in your own cloned voice? Check. A Camera Coach that gives posing instructions and edits photos on command? Check. Magic Cue, a personal assistant that plucks relevant info from your inbox, texts and calendar at just the right time? Double check.

Meanwhile, Apple users are still waiting for “Apple Intelligence” to get smarter. Siri, the digital sidekick Apple teased earlier this year, remains largely MIA. Samsung, for its part, is already fusing Google’s Gemini AI into its Galaxy phones.

Why Pixel’s AI Pops

The Pixel 10’s strength isn’t in hardware—it’s in software that anticipates what you’ll need before you ask. When you call United Airlines, your flight reservation pops up. When a friend asks about that coffee shop you forgot, Magic Cue pulls it from an old thread. And when you’re traveling abroad, your voice can suddenly order dinner in fluent German, Italian or Hindi.

Google has long been the software wizard of the smartphone space, but this time it’s going straight for Apple’s crown: AI that’s personal, practical and seamless.

The Market Reality

Here’s the catch: Google Pixel still only holds a sliver of the smartphone market. iPhone loyalists aren’t likely to ditch their green text bubbles anytime soon. But Google knows it doesn’t need to win the hardware war—it just needs to set the AI bar high enough that Apple looks behind the curve.

Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ:CSIQ) shares fell Thursday after the company reported second-quarter 2025 revenue of $1.69 billion, up 4% year over year but below the $1.95 billion consensus estimate.

The company reported a net loss of 8 cents per share, compared with earnings of 2 cents a year earlier. The company posted an adjusted loss of 53 cents per share, which missed analyst expectations of a $1.61 profit.

Total module shipments reached 7.9 GW, up 14% sequentially and down 4% year over year, with the U.S., China, Pakistan, Spain, and Australia as top markets.

Gross margin widened to 29.8% from 17.2% a year earlier, exceeding guidance of 23% to 25%, aided by storage contributions, a U.S. anti-dumping and countervailing duty true-up adjustment, and a U.S. project sale. Gross profit rose to $505 million from $282 million a year ago.

Operating expenses increased to $377.59 million, primarily due to asset impairments. Operating cash inflow was $189 million, compared with an outflow of $429 million a year earlier.

The company ended the quarter with $2.3 billion in total cash and $6.3 billion in debt, including $1.8 billion in non-recourse borrowings.

By segment, CSI Solar delivered $1.59 billion in revenue, led by $1.02 billion from modules and $432 million from storage. Recurrent Energy contributed $104 million, with $48 million from project sales and $37 million from electricity and storage operations.

CSI Solar reported a $3 billion e-STORAGE contracted backlog, while Recurrent Energy’s development pipeline stood at 27.3 GWp of solar and 80.2 GWh of storage.

Outlook

For the third quarter, Canadian Solar expects revenue of $1.3 billion to $1.5 billion, below the $1.63 billion estimate, and gross margin of 14% to 16%.

For the full year, it lowered sales guidance to $5.6 billion to $6.3 billion from $6.1 billion to $7.1 billion, short of the $6.33 billion consensus.

Module shipments are forecast at 25 GW to 27 GW, with storage at 7 GWh to 9 GWh.

Dr. Shawn Qu, Chairman and CEO, said, “We expect third quarter margins to moderate as difficult market conditions persist, and storage profitability reflects more recent orders at normalized levels. We narrowed our full-year module volume guidance and maintained our storage volume guidance, supported by increased visibility into the second half. Full-year revenue expectations have been adjusted to reflect certain project sales shifting into 2026 and a more measured view on module pricing. The second half will remain challenging, with rising solar supply chain prices and ongoing trade uncertainties. We will continue to navigate these conditions with discipline, maintaining a prudent balance between growth and profitability.”

Price Action: CSIQ shares were trading lower by 13.02% to $11.09 premarket at last check Thursday.

Retailer Walmart Inc (NYSE:WMT) could show market gains in both physical retail and its ecommerce business when the company reports second-quarter financial results Thursday after market close.

Earnings Estimates: Analysts expect Walmart to report second-quarter revenue of $176.16 billion, up from $169.34 in last year’s second quarter, according to data from Benzinga Pro.

The company missed analyst estimates for revenue in the first quarter, but have beaten estimates in nine of the last 10 quarters.

Analysts expect Walmart to report second-quarter earnings per share of 74 cents, up from 67 cents per share in last year’s second quarter.

The company has beaten analyst estimates for earnings per share in six straight quarters and in nine of the last 10 quarters. The lone non-beat quarter saw the company’s earnings per share match estimates.

Guidance from the company calls for second-quarter revenue in the range of $173.67 billion to $175.35 billion.

Key Items to Watch: Walmart’s earnings report comes a day after rival retailer Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) reported quarterly results. Target beat analyst estimates for both earnings per share and revenue, but shares fell on guidance and overall concerns.

Target saw gross margin rates decline and comparable store sales down year-over-year. Operating income and EBITDA also declined in the quarter on a year-over-year basis.

The company reiterated its full-year guidance, acknowledging that tariffs are causing short-term pressure.

Walmart’s earnings report could show market share taken from Target if the company shows stronger same-store sales growth and growth in digital sales.

Walmart’s global ecommerce sales were up 22% year-over-year in the first quarter, with the company also seeing comparable sales up 4.5% for Walmart U.S. excluding fuel.

Walmart has also acknowledged pressure from tariffs, but its results may show better control or lower impact from the rising costs.

Data from Placer.ai shows that Walmart experienced a 1.0% visit growth in the second calendar quarter, compared to a 2.5% decline in the first calendar quarter.

Walmart saw visits decline by more than 4% year-over-year in both February and March, with growth of 4.3% in March, growth of 0.7% in May and declines of 1.6% in both June and July. The stronger results in recent months come as the retailer pushes for digital sales growth. Walmart’s fiscal second quarter includes results from May, June and July.

The results for visits data could suggest that Walmart is growing digital sales without hurting its physical store sales too much.

While Walmart may be taking market share from Target, the rising competition from Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) could be a cause for concern. Amazon is expanding its same-day delivery for Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods. Walmart could be asked questions about the growing competition from Amazon during the earnings call.

Some analysts have been raising their price targets on Walmart stock ahead of the earnings report.

Price Action: Walmart stock is down 0.9% to $102.22 on Wednesday versus a 52-week trading range of $74.59 to $105.30. Walmart stock is up 13.7% year-to-date in 2025.
