Meanwhile, NATO plans to reinforce its presence on its eastern front following the invasion. “In the coming days and weeks … we will further increase our presence in the eastern part of the alliance,” NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said, as quoted by CNBC. “We have already deployed thousands of troops. The most important thing for Poland and allies in [the eastern part of] the NATO alliance is that there is more NATO presence in the east.”
In short, the situation may only get worse.
