Bitcoin has plunged around 10% to $82,000 over the past 24 hours, pushing liquidations to around $2 billion.

Spot ETFs saw heavy outflows on Thursday, with $903.1 million exiting Bitcoin funds and another $261.6 million flowing out of Ethereum products.

Bitcoin To Witness Sizeable Correction

Glassnode data shows Bitcoin’s realized losses have surged to levels last seen during the FTX collapse, driven largely by short-term holders capitulating.

This rapid spike suggests a widespread washout of weak hands as traders unwind recent positions.

Crypto chart analyst Ali Martinez highlighted that Bitcoin’s weekly SuperTrend, historically reliable in spotting major reversals, has flipped bearish again. For over a decade, every bearish flip has preceded a notable BTC correction.

Lennaert Snyder noted Ethereum has fallen to $2,650 and continues to trend downward. The next key resistance sits near $3,200, a rejection there favours fresh short setups, while a reclaim could open the door to $3,530.

ETH is also nearing the $2,580 daily support level, where reversal-long opportunities may emerge. Liquidity remains concentrated higher, keeping focus on longs at support and shorts near resistance.

The meme-coin sector was hit even harder, plunging 10.9% and briefly touching a $44.4 billion valuation. Despite the new 21Shares Doge ETF debuting on Thursday, Dogecoin still declined — though trader Tardigrade noted a fresh bullish divergence forming on the daily chart, often an early sign a downtrend is weakening.

Bitcoin Stuck, Key Levels Hold Importance

Daan Crypto Trades noted Bitcoin is rangebound between $107,000–$111,000, with thin trading volume causing sharp swings.

A break above $111,000 could open the door for further upside, while holding $107,000 support remains crucial.

Ted Pillows highlighted Ethereum bounced off key support but shows lingering weakness. Until it reclaims $4,100 with strong institutional inflows, most pumps are likely to be retraced.

For Solana, Daan explains it is consolidating around its Daily 200MA/EMA, forming lower highs and higher lows post-October 10 volatility.

Key levels are $170–$175 support and $195–$200 resistance; the next move will depend on which side breaks.

Broadly tracking the crypto market, the meme coin cap rose 0.1% to $61.97 billion in 24 hours. AI-themed meme coins led with 1.6% gains, while Solana-based meme coins dropped 1.8%.

While Dogecoin remains “crazy cheap” under $0.2 according to trader GalaxyBTC, Shiba Inu burn rates surged 2,690%, showing strong token deflation activity.

Dogecoin trading volume rose about 6% in a day, while open interest has consistently held the $3 billion level since early August, Coinglass data shows.

Community News: In a major development, Alex Spiro, Elon Musk’s longtime lawyer, is set to chair a new Dogecoin Treasury company backed by the House of Doge.

Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) could experience a significant correction in September, according to a prominent market commentator.

What Happened: Pseudonymous trader Dr. Profit said in a message in his private Telegram trading group that the next FOMC meeting in September could mark a turning point, with a major rate cut triggering the first meaningful correction since 2020 across both stocks and crypto.

Historically, real corrections come only after meaningful cuts, when uncertainty and divided opinions arise.

This cut is expected to trigger a strong correction across both stocks and crypto.

The Bitcoin chart is currently showing bearish signals, such as:

• A CME gap at ~$93,000 that needs to be filled.
• Liquidity clusters between $90,000–$95,000.
• A Double top pattern, dropping volume, with bearish divergences on the daily/weekly charts.
• Recent pumps led by futures traders, not spot buyers.

The on-chain data shows retail bought Bitcoin late ($110,000–$120,000+), while big wallets accumulated earlier around $98,000–$110,000. To flush out weak hands, Bitcoin likely drops to $90,000–$95,000, retail’s max-pain zone, aligning with the correction narrative.

DrProfit sees the current euphoria and “alt season” hype as a bull trap.

While retail is rushing in, ETF inflows remain weak, signalling institutional distribution rather than accumulation. The liquidity being unloaded onto retail is masked by fake bullishness.

Why It Matters: Since Aug. 18, the trader has rotated 10% of BTC/ETH profits daily into shorts.

His portfolio now sits at 60% cash plus shorts and 40% spot. Using 5x leverage, he is gradually scaling shorts, with plans to increase exposure if BTC climbs toward $124,000.

His roadmap: a September correction down to $90,000–$95,000, followed by a rally toward $145,000–$150,000 in Bitcoin and $7,000–$8,000 in Ethereum.

The goal, he says, is to end up with more coins by selling into strength and buying back lower.

“The September correction is the real opportunity,” he concluded, adding that the current bullish sentiment is manufactured to trap retail.

More Crypto Online explained that Ethereum has likely completed its C-wave down, but the current rebound remains a three-wave structure, leaving questions on whether wave 4 has truly bottomed.

Crypto chart analyst Ali Martinez said Dogecoin is consolidating in a triangle pattern, warming up for a potential 40% pump.

For Solana, Martinez projected a move toward $160, while trader Galaxy flagged a symmetrical triangle on XRP’s daily chart, setting up for a possible breakout.

Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) has crossed the $4,400 mark, with traders eyeing a possible to run to all-time highs despite concerns about a short-term dip.

What Happened: Chart analyst Ali Martinez highlighted that ETH has been consolidating between resistance at $4,332 and support near $4,165.

Martinez notes the market is in a “wait-and-see” mode, with a fresh daily TD Sequential sell signal pointing to a likely pullback toward $4,165 or possibly lower.

He adds that the bearish outlook will be invalidated if Ethereum closes above $4,370 on the 4-hour chart, potentially signalling renewed bullish momentum.

Analyst Michael van de Poppe called Martinez’s detailed post “a reasonable concern.” He added that testing support near $4,100, just below current levels, could trigger a deeper correction, especially if macro conditions remain weak.

A dip into the $3,600–$3,800 range would align with previous support zones and could serve as a healthy retracement before further upside.

Why It Matters: Ethereum’s price surge coincides with a 114% jump in large transaction volume within a single day, while transactions over $100,000 increased from 8,471 to 11,699.

Nearly 97% of ETH holders are currently in profit, with exchange netflows expanding 54.1%.

Data from SoSoValue shows spot Ethereum ETFs posted record net inflows of $1.02 billion, significantly outperforming Bitcoin ETFs.

BlackRock’s ETHA led this surge with $639.7 million inflows, pushing its cumulative total to $10.49 billion and assets under management to $13.7 billion.

Ethereum’s open interest stands at $56.8 billion, the highest since July 30, indicating strong trader interest. Derivatives trading volume also jumped 29.8% in a single day.

Bitcoin advocate Udi Wertheimer has made the case that Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) is entering an explosive bull run, akin to what happened with Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE) in 2020–2021.

What Happened: Wertheimer took to X on Monday to point out that Bitcoin’s surge is not just about price, as legacy crypto holders are being replaced by institutions, ETFs and treasuries like Strategy (NASDAQ:MSTR), which are accumulating without regard for past valuations.

This mirrors Dogecoin’s explosive 200x rally in 2020–2021, where old holders sold early, while new buyers, unaware of past price ceilings, kept accumulating until a sudden supply shock triggered massive upside.

That behavior caused a supply shock and sent Dogecoin soaring from fractions of a penny to $0.70 in 2021, a 200x move.

New institutional buyers, especially via ETF flows like IBIT, aren’t concerned with technical ceilings.

To them, Bitcoin at $110,000 is still cheap, especially compared to other asset classes.

What’s Next: Udi Wertheimer base case is entering the first phase of a truly generational bull run, projecting a top of $400,000 by year-end.

Just as Dogecoin’s old holders missed the bulk of the rally, he warns today’s sidelined Bitcoiners may watch this run from the rearview mirror, unless they act now.

Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH), he says, will be the biggest loser of this cycle, weighed down by long-term holders and underwhelming performance versus BTC.

The $4,000 target prediction show lack of belief and bagholders are still offloading on every pump. He even suggests that Strategy’s valuation could flip Ethereum’s, signalling a dramatic shift in crypto capital concentration.

Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE) is catching fire again as technical strength, growing retail interest,and Bitcoin’s (CRYPTO: BTC) surge fuel chatter about the meme coin hitting the iconic $1 level.

What Happened: On his May 22 podcast, crypto analyst Kevin said DOGE could revisit its former all-time highs near $0.95, or even break the “famous dollar level”, if Bitcoin maintains upward momentum.

He attributes this potential breakout to DOGE’s strong technical structure and continued popularity with retail traders.

While Kevin says a price between $3.80 and $4.00 could be possible this cycle under exceptional conditions, his short-term focus is on the $0.26–$0.285 resistance zone, the confluence of the macro golden pocket and 200-day simple moving average.

A breakout here could send Dogecoin toward $0.33, the measured move from a bullish flag pattern on the daily chart.

Dogecoin’s fundamentals are aligning with bullish sentiment and technical (macro golden pocket), all eyes are on the $0.26–$0.285 breakout zone, with $0.33 as the next near-term target describing as “bullish flag pattern”.

Trader Bluntz Capital sees DOGE breaking upward out of a channel and says a “god candle” is loading on the chart.

Bitcoinsensus noted past bull flags on DOGE delivering massive gains: the 1st flag at +90%, 2nd flag with +215%, 3rd flag generating +440%. He believes the 4th flag could lead to $0.95, a 560% spike.

Why It Matters: In an X post on May 23, interoperability protocol Wormhole announced that Dogecoin is now available on the Solana blockchain, unlocking new utility and bridging ecosystems.

This integration could drive greater liquidity, trading volume, and cross-chain speculation, especially with Solana’s high-speed infrastructure supporting DOGE.

According to Coinglass, Dogecoin liquidations fell to just $2.86 million on May 23, the lowest since May 8.

Open interest surged 3.3% to $3.06 billion, its highest level since May 11, signaling rising market engagement.

Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) is struggling to get back above the $80,000 level, which traders have identified as a crucial area of resistance.  

What Happened: In an X post on Tuesday, crypto trader Emperor provided a detailed analysis of Bitcoin stating that it has recently tapped into a high-confluence buy zone at $74,000–$76,000, where he had placed his long orders.

With a bounce underway, he now marks $80,000–$81,000 as the key level to watch.

Emperor explained that this resistance aligns with previous range lows and the value area low, making it a strong candidate for taking partial profits. He confirmed that he’s already exited some positions at $80,000 and will consider re-entering if price cleanly breaks above this level.

Why It Matters: While some market watchers have been linking BTC’s decline to the broader stock market slide, crypto trader Astronomer challenges that narrative with data.

He analyzed three major drawdowns and their Bitcoin vs. S&P 500 performance ratios:

• COVID Crash: S&P -35% vs. BTC -65% → Ratio: 1.85
• 2022 Bear Market: S&P -26% vs. BTC -77% → Ratio: 2.96
• Recent Drop: S&P -23% vs. BTC -30% → Ratio: 1.30

Astronomer argues that while macro cycles may cause both markets to drop simultaneously, the scale and behaviour differ significantly. He cautions against using equity market moves to predict Bitcoin’s path, saying it often adds confusion and clouds clear decision-making.
