Monster Beverage Corp. (NASDAQ:MNST) shares were up after the company released its third-quarter earnings report after Thursday’s closing bell, beating analyst estimates. 

Here’s a look at the details in the report.

The Details: Monster Beverage reported quarterly earnings of 56 cents per share, which beat the consensus estimate of 48 cents.

Quarterly revenue came in at $2.19 billion, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $2.1 billion and was up from revenue of $1.88 billion from the same period last year.

Net sales for the company’s Monster Energy Drinks segment, which primarily includes the Company’s Monster Energy drinks, Reign Total Body Fuel high performance energy drinks, Reign Storm total wellness energy drinks and Bang Energy drinks, increased 17.7% to $2.03 billion for the 2025 third quarter, from $1.72 billion for the 2024 third quarter.

“The global energy drink category continues to demonstrate solid growth, driven by increasing consumer demand. We again delivered solid financial results in the 2025 third quarter, with record net sales, gross profit dollars, operating income and net income,” said Hilton H. Schlosberg, CEO of Monster Beverage.

MNST Stock Price: According to data from Benzinga Pro, Monster stock was up 4.51% at $69.30 in Thursday’s extended trading.

DoorDash, Inc. (NASDAQ:DASH) stock plunged after the company released a mixed third-quarter earnings report after Wednesday’s closing bell, missing EPS estimates.

Here’s a look at the details in the report.

The Details:  DoorDash reported quarterly earnings of 55 cents per share, which missed the consensus estimate of 68 cents by 19.24%.

Quarterly revenue clocked in at $3.44 billion, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $3.35 billion.

DoorDash reported the following metrics for Q3:

• Total Orders increased 21% Y/Y to 776 million.
• Marketplace GOV increased 25% Y/Y to $25 billion.

“In Q3 2025, we generated nearly $24 billion in combined sales for merchants and earnings for Dashers, and we expect to generate well over $100 billion in 2026. We believe we are still in our early stages and are energized by the opportunity to continue learning, building, and investing on behalf of consumers, merchants, Dashers and our shareholders,” DoorDash said in its press release.

DASH Stock Price: According to data from Benzinga Pro, DoorDash stock was down 13.71% at $205.05 in Wednesday’s extended trading.

Opendoor Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:OPEN) is one of 2025’s wildest stock market stories, and the social-media-fueled frenzy continued on Monday. 

What To Know: Last week, hedge fund manager Eric Jackson lit a fire under Opendoor shares with a viral social media post suggesting that the stock price could increase one hundredfold to $82 per share. 

Opendoor stock achieved “meme status” and remained one of the top trending tickers on Monday, fueled by retail investors’ speculation that it could be “the next Carvana.”

$40 Per Share? 

Jackson posted more of his thesis over the weekend, including his thoughts on why the stock should be trading at $40 per share right now. 

“Everyone keeps asking me, ‘What’s $OPEN worth now?’ We know it’s worth $82 in a few years,” Jackson wrote in a post on X. “The answer is it’s worth $40 now after they report a profitable quarter with hints that they’re at steady -state profitability going forward,” he added. 

Opendoor is set to report its second-quarter results on Aug. 6, but the Street consensus estimates do not anticipate a profitable quarter. According to estimates from Benzinga Pro, analysts expect the company to report a loss of one cent per share and revenue of $1.5 billion for the quarter. 

Jackson continued his valuation argument for Opendoor Technologies, stating that if the company achieves steady-state profitability, its valuation should be higher, similar to Carvana.

“They’ll do $5.75B in rev next year. They deserved a forward EV/Rev multiple of 5x like $CVNA $1.2B net debt $559M cash 723M shares They should be trading at $40 right now,” he wrote. 

Reality Check 

The market currently values Opendoor much lower because the company has never turned a profit, with over $3.8 billion in cumulative losses to date and still faces significant macro and business model risks. 

The stock also faces an ongoing threat of delisting from Nasdaq due to its low share price. In fact, Opendoor will hold a shareholder vote on a potential reverse stock split on July 28 to preserve its listing on the Nasdaq. 

However, the facts don’t seem to bother retail investors, who have pushed Opendoor stock even higher with more than 400 million shares already traded at the time of publication on Monday. 

OPEN Stock Price: Shares of Opendoor Technologies were up 44.7% at $3.25, according to data from Benzinga Pro.

Quantum computing stocks have attracted major retail investor interest in 2025, with companies like D-Wave Quantum, Inc. (NYSE:QBTS), Rigetti Computing, Inc. (NASDAQ:RGTI) and IonQ, Inc. (NYSE:IONQ) standing out as some investor favorites. 

While the sector holds transformative potential, persistent financial losses and evolving technology mean these stocks remain high-risk, high-reward investments.

QBTS: D-Wave Quantum is 2025’s best quantum stock performer so far, with gains of more than 35% year-to-date. The company specializes in quantum annealing systems with products like the Advantage and Advantage 2 quantum computers, as well as its Leap quantum cloud service. 

D-Wave reported record quarterly revenue of $15 million last week, a more than sixfold increase on a year-over-year basis, though the company has yet to turn a profit. 

IONQ: IonQ also reported a smaller-than-expected first-quarter loss last week, though its stock is down more than 20% year-to-date. 

However, the company has established partnerships with major cloud providers like Microsoft, Amazon and Google for its trapped ion technology and analysts see potential gains ahead. IonQ stock has a consensus price target of $38.33 based on the ratings of 7 analysts, representing a nearly 20% upside to the stock’s current price level. 

RGTI: Rigetti specializes in full-stack, cloud-accessible quantum computing, manufacturing its own chips and pioneering scalable multi-chip quantum processors. However, Rigetti’s financials reveal the high cost of quantum research and developments with a trailing twelve-month net loss of $200.99 million on $10.79 million in revenue. 

The company is set to report its first-quarter results after Monday’s closing bell with Street expectations of a loss of 5 cents per share on revenue of $2.55 million. Rigetti stock is racing higher on heavy trading volume ahead of earnings, reflecting retail investor enthusiasm.

The U.S. economy contracted for the first time in three years at the beginning of 2025 as a surge of imports ahead of Trump’s tariffs pulled GDP negative in the first quarter. 

The Details: Gross domestic product declined by 0.3% on an annualized basis during the January–March period. The reading fell short of analyst expectations, which had forecast a modest slowdown to 0.4% growth.

On the jobs front, Automatic Data Processing Inc. reported that private employers added only 62,000 jobs in April, well below economists’ expectations of 108,000.

Expert Ideas: Most economists agree that first-quarter GDP was “clouded” by a rush of imports as businesses increased inventories ahead of the implementation of Trump’s tariff policies. 

Jason Furman, professor of economics at Harvard University, highlighted that while GDP contracted, core GDP was up 3% at an annualized rate. 

Real GDP fell at a 0.3% annual rate in Q1.

The underlying numbers are very extreme–with an enormous increase in imports and inventories.

Bill Adams, chief economist for Comerica Bank, cautioned that the first quarter GDP “says less than usual about the economy’s trajectory” and pointed instead to April’s ADP employment report as a more accurate barometer of economic conditions. 

April’s ADP private payrolls data came in well-below expectations and was the weakest monthly increase since July 2024.

“Between the GDP report, April’s ADP report, and a pullback in business and consumer surveys last month, the economy is losing momentum and risks to the economic outlook are increasing,” Adams said. 

Jeffrey Roach, chief economist for LPL Financial, said the GDP report builds anticipation ahead of Friday’s payroll numbers as the “trajectory for growth hinges on the health of the labor market.”

Roach expressed the belief that the economy and U.S. consumer remain strong and that most of the economic turbulence is related to Trump’s tariff policies. 

“A successful resolution to global trade policy would likely remove most of the volatility and uncertainty currently experienced by businesses and consumers,” Roach said.  

Markets React: All three major indexes are in the red in Wednesday’s midday trading as they attempt to recover from steep declines following the GDP and ADP employment reports. The S&P 500, tracked by the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (NYSE:SPY), was down 0.55% and the Nasdaq 100, tracked by the Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:QQQ), was down 1.29%.

As the earnings season gets underway, analysts from BofA Securities released a preview on Friday of what to expect from major insurers’ fourth-quarter reports.

The firm also took a look at how the Los Angeles area wildfires will affect the companies in the current quarter. 

Allstate: BofA expects Allstate Corp. (NYSE:ALL) to report $764 million in catastrophe losses for the fourth quarter, equaling a catastrophe load of 5.5%. The firm noted that Allstate reported net catastrophe losses of $286 million in October, which included losses from Hurricane Milton, unfavorable reserve re-estimates from Hurricane Helene and losses from other inclement weather events in North America.

BofA currently sees first-quarter catastrophe losses of $1.46 billion — 10.3% catastrophe load —  which includes $700 million from the California wildfires, where the firm expects Allstate to incur more losses from the Eaton fire as compared to the Palisades fire.  

BofA Securities maintained a Buy rating on Allstate shares but lowered its price target from $285 to $279. 

Allstate is set to report its fourth-quarter financial results on Feb. 5 after the closing bell. Analysts expect the company to report earnings of $5.95 per share and revenue of $14.7 billion for the quarter.

Chubb: The firm sees Chubb Ltd. (NYSE:CB) reporting $851 million in catastrophe losses, or an 8.1% loss ratio impact, for the first quarter. Chubb was exposed to adverse weather events around the world including European flooding, Hurricane Milton and other weather events in the U.S.

BofA pointed to Chubb as a major underwriter of high-net-worth homeowners’ insurance and is modeling $1.9 billion, a 17.5% catastrophe load, of first-quarter catastrophe losses for the insurer. The California wildfires account for $1.3 billion of those projected first-quarter catastrophe losses.  

BofA Securities maintained an Underperform rating on Chubb and lowered its price target from $272 to $266. 

Chubb is set to report its fourth-quarter financial results on Jan. 28 after the market close. According to estimates from Benzingo Pro, analysts expect the company to report earnings of $5.46 per share on revenue of $12.277 billion. 

Progressive: The analysts expect Progressive to report $104 million in catastrophe losses in December, which would bring its fourth-quarter catastrophe losses to $340 million. 

BofA models first-quarter catastrophe losses of $584 million, including $90 million from the California wildfires, with two-thirds of those losses from the auto segment. 

BofA Securities maintained Progressive with a Buy rating and lowered its price target from $339 to $322. 

Progressive is set to report its fourth-quarter results before the opening bell on Jan. 29. Analysts expect the company to report earnings of $3.52 per share and revenue of $18.357 billion for the quarter.

Donald Trump has been elected as the 47th president of the United States, defeating his Democratic opponent Kamala Harris. Here’s a look at where Trump stands on issues surrounding the technology sector and some of the biggest companies on Wall Street.

Tariffs: President-elect Trump has promoted tariffs of 20% on all imports coming into the country and tariffs as high as 60% on goods made in China.

Companies like Apple, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) which produces most of its products in China, could be heavily impacted by higher tariffs and may pass those costs onto the consumer as a result.

Chips: The semiconductor industry could be highly effected by Trump’s potential tariff policies. The Biden administration hiked tariffs on semiconductors imported from China with the rate set to increase to 50% by 2025. It is likely Trump will maintain this policy and perhaps hike the tariffs even higher.

The outgoing administration enacted the CHIPS and Science Act to provide funding for American research, manufacturing and workforce development aimed at boosting domestic semiconductor production. Trump has been highly critical of the CHIPS and Science Act and has suggested that implementing high tariffs would drive chip manufacturers to invest their own resources in establishing production facilities inside the U.S. 

Investors and chipmakers will be watching to see if Trump will attempt to claw back funds promised under the CHIPS Act or dismantle or reduce the program.

Trump has also been a vocal critic of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd.’s (NYSE:TSM) planned investments in the US, particularly its $40 billion project in Arizona. Once in office, Trump could attempt to cancel or modify the subsidies that have been promised to the company through the CHIPS Act.

Investors can monitor the market’s reaction to the election results through an ETF that tracks the semiconductor sector, including the iShares Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ:SOXX) and the VanEck Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ:SMH). 

DOJ: Under the Biden administration, the Justice Department intensified its scrutiny of major technology companies, particularly in the areas of monopolistic practices and proposed mergers and acquisitions in order to prevent further market concentration. 

Alphabet, Inc.’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google currently faces multiple antitrust cases brought by the US Department of Justice under the Biden administration and include charges of illegally monopolizing the internet search engine and advertising technology markets. 

A Trump White House — along with a Republican Senate — will likely take a more deregulatory approach to technology and AI when compared to his predecessor.

Trump has also committed to rolling back Biden’s executive order on AI regulation, which some conservatives view as government overreach.

AI hyperscalers, like Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) Amazon Web Services (AWS) will likely face less regulatory oversight under a Trump administration, potentially giving them more freedom in developing and deploying AI technologies.

Markets React: Stock futures are surging Wednesday morning with tech-heavy Nasdaq futures up 1.79% as investors interpret Trump’s victory as positive for the technology sector.

AAPL, TSM, GOOG, MSFT, AMZN Price Action: According to data from Benzinga Pro, Apple shares are up 0.42% at $224.40, TSMC shares are down 1.74% at $192.35, Alphabet shares are up 2.26% at $175.29, Microsoft shares are up 1.22% at $416.48 and Amazon shares are up 0.46% at $200.42 in premarket trading Wednesday.

Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) reported setting new sales records during its July 2024 Prime Day event, though the company did not share many details on sales figures or growth.

Here’s a look at the data on the trending categories and brands behind Amazon’s record-breaking Prime Day 2024 event. 

The Details: Amazon’s web traffic jumped by 65% on day one of Prime Day, according to data from SimilarWeb, indicating a high level of consumer interest in the sales event.  

Overall, Amazon remained the number one brand by purchases, but Apple, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) climbed past Samsung to claim the number two position with 22% purchase growth. Apple’s growth was fueled by consumer searches for “Apple watch” and “airpods,” which reached the top seventh- and eighth-ranked search terms, respectively.

The Beauty & Personal Care category saw the largest purchase increase on Prime Day 2024, with sales growth of 14.8% year-over-year. COSRX was the top beauty brand by purchases, as K-Beauty trends continued to gain momentum. Koninklijke Philips NV’s (NYSE:PHG) Philips Norelco entered the top 10 beauty and personal care brands in the number nine position. 

Electronics sales fell by 5.6% compared to 2023’s Prime Day event. Samsung and Sony Group Corp. (NYSE:SONY) retained their rankings of number one and two by purchases in the category as consumers showed interest in gaming. “Gaming laptop,” “gaming pc” and “gaming monitor” search terms all ranked in the top 10 electronic keywords from Prime Day 2024. 

In the Grocery & Gourmet Food brands category, coffee brands and energy drinks featured heavily in the top 10 Grocery brands. CELSIUS energy drinks by Celsius Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CELH) climbed one spot to the number one position for purchases on Prime Day 2024. 

New items that joined the top 10 keywords for the Home and Kitchen category for 2024 were rice cookers, coffee table and espresso machine. Stanley Black & Decker Inc (NYSE:SWK) sells its rice cooker on Amazon, while Nestle SA – ADR (OTC:NSRGY)-owned Nespresso offers espresso machines.

What Else: Amazon’s next major sales event will be Prime Big Deal Days on Oct. 8 and 9 to kick off the holiday shopping season.

Analysts are expecting growth for online retailers this holiday season as budget-conscious consumers look for a combination of value and convenience. 

AMZN Price Action: According to Benzinga Pro, Amazon.com shares are down 1.46% at $188.38 at the time of publication Friday.

Archer Aviation, Inc. (NYSE:ACHR) and Future Flight Global (FFG) on Tuesday announced a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the planned purchase of up to 116 Midnight Aircraft worth up to $580 million. 

The Details:

The agreement includes the planned purchase by FFG of up to 116 of Archer’s Midnight aircraft, worth up to $580 million, bringing Archer’s indicative order book to $6 billion. Archer and FFG plan to launch air taxi services in some of the largest markets globally, including Southeast Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

The two companies are working to formalize definitive agreements covering the intended aircraft purchases and strategic operating alliance, with nearly $5 million in pre-delivery payments planned upon their completion.

According to data from Benzinga Pro, Archer shares are down more than 30% over the past month and are trading below the stock’s 50-day moving average of $3.95.
