E-commerce pet care giant Chewy Inc. (NYSE:CHWY) could show continued diversification into high-gross margin segments when it reports first-quarter financial results Wednesday before the market opens.

Analysts expect Chewy to report first-quarter earnings per share of 19 cents, down from 31 cents per share in last year’s first quarter. The company has beaten analyst estimates for earnings per share in 12 straight quarters.

Chewy’s guidance calls for first-quarter revenue of $3.06 billion to $3.09 billion and first-quarter adjusted earnings per share in the range of 30 cents to 35 cents per share.

What Analysts Are Saying: Chewy could be a defensive stock with a strong base of Autoship customers providing recurring, highly visible revenue, said JPMorgan analyst Doug Anmuth in a recent investor note.

Anmuth reiterated an Overweight rating and price target of $36 on Chewy ahead of the earnings.

He said Chewy is seeing rising profitability and pushing into high-margin segments like pharmacy to diversify revenue. Anmuth also highlighted the company’s international expansion, Sponsored Ads and category leadership as reasons to be bullish on the stock.

Anmuth, who said the company gets over 80% of sales from Autoship customers, forecasts Chewy will add 104k net customers in the first quarter.

In the investor note, Anmuth highlights SimilarWeb data that shows Chewy’s web traffic up 4% year-over-year in the first quarter

With the growth in higher margin segments, he sees adjusted EBITDA margin increasing along with net sales growth of 6% year-over-year in the first quarter.

Key Items to Watch: As mentioned above, investors and analysts will likely look to Chewy’s autoship customers for potential strength. Autoship customer sales were up 21.2% to $2.62 billion in the fourth quarter.

Another area to be closely monitored is the company’s growth in pharmaceutical, advertising and other high-margin segments. Having started primarily as an e-commerce pet food and supplies company, Chewy is now looking to expand for its next wave of growth.

Expansion efforts center on pharmaceutical and international.

“As we embark on 2025, the momentum in the business has remained strong and we remain committed to executing Chewy’s strategic priorities as we continue to drive innovation across the pet category,” Chewy CEO Sumit Singh said after fourth-quarter results.

Analysts and investors will also be watching to see if Chewy updates if full-year guidance, reiterates guidance, or withdraws guidance as some other companies have done due to tariff and macroeconomic concerns.

CHWY Price Action: Chewy stock was down 2.3% to $45.46 on Tuesday, compared to a 52-week trading range of $19.75 to $48.62. However, Chewy stock is up 34% year-to-date in 2025 and over 100% over the last year.

Video game retailer GameStop Corporation (NYSE:GME) could continue upwards momentum with a strong first-quarter financial report Tuesday after market close.

Here’s a look at the analyst estimates and key items to watch.

Earnings Estimates: Analysts expect GameStop to report first-quarter sales of $754.2 million, down from $881.8 million in last year’s first quarter, according to Benzinga Pro data.

The company has missed analyst estimates for sales in six straight quarters and eight of the last 10 quarters overall.

Analysts expect GameStop to report a profit of 4 cents per share, an improvement on a loss of 12 cents per share in last year’s first quarter.

The company beat analyst estimates for earnings per share in the fourth quarter and has beaten analyst estimates in five of the last 10 quarters overall. The first quarter loss last fiscal year was the only loss in GameStop’s four fiscal quarters last year.

A strong first-quarter report and positive earnings per share could be a strong start for the company.

Key Items to Watch: GameStop’s report comes after several positive news items sent shares higher.

The company announced the purchase of 4,710 Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) last month, which came after the company announced plans to add cryptocurrency to its balance sheet.

GameStop has also been in the spotlight with strong momentum due to the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 gaming console from Nintendo (OTC:NTDOY). GameStop stores were open at midnight for the June 5 release of the console with long lines and sellouts reported at locations across the country.

The bad news for GameStop investors is that the gaming company has typically reported financial results without providing guidance, holding a conference call, or communicating with shareholders.

Shareholders would likely love to hear an update on the Bitcoin purchase and whether more cryptocurrency purchases are coming with the company’s cash. They would also love to hear how Nintendo Switch 2 demand could factor into second-quarter results, as the first quarter will cover February, March, and April.

Instead, investors may have to save their optimism for future quarterly results and focus on what the company does report.

One item that has been present in recent reports is the company’s growing Collectibles revenue, which comes as the retailer ramps up supply and marketing for trading cards and grading services. This comes as hardware and software sales for the gaming market have faced pressure as gamers turn to digital offerings.

A strong report could send GameStop shares higher, extending the recent streak of positive momentum. However, if details on Bitcoin or the Nintendo Switch 2 remain limited, investors may choose to stay on the sidelines.

GME Price Action: GameStop stock was up 2.1% to $30.22 on Monday, compared to a 52-week trading range of $18.73 to $35.81. However, GameStop stock is down 2.4% year-to-date in 2025.

Analysts expect Broadcom to report second-quarter earnings per share of $1.56, up from $1.10 in last year’s second quarter. The company beat estimates in the first quarter and has beaten analyst estimates for earnings per share in nine of the last 10 quarters overall.

Guidance from the company calls for second-quarter revenue to be $14.9 billion.

What Experts Are Saying: Strong demand for Broadcom’s AI products and a stabilization of the company’s non-AI semi-business could see a second-quarter beat, JPMorgan analyst Harlan Sur recently said.

The analyst maintained an Overweight rating and price target of $250.

Sur said Broadcom is also likely to guide for higher than expected third-quarter revenue, led by its AI demand strength.

“Broadcom remains our overall top pick in our semiconductor coverage given their exposure to AI infrastructure spending trends combined with their diversified end market exposure and best-in-class gross, operation and free cash flow margins,” Sur said.

Freedom Capital Markets Chief Global Strategist Jay Woods said Broadcom is “basically Nvidia’s baby brother,” with the company growing in Nvidia’s shadows for years.

“Shares have rallied just over 500% from its 2022 lows which pales to the 1250+% rally in Nvidia. However, over the past 52-weeks AVGO shares are leading, up 82% compared to Nvidia’s 23% gain,” Woods said in a weekly newsletter.

Woods said Broadcom stock sits near a key resistance level of $250.

“Technically, if AVGO wanted to step out of NVDA’s shadows this would be the chance to do so and lead the semiconductors higher.”

Woods said in the tough market environment, Broadcom stock may see a challenge to go higher and investors could look to buy on a dip at around $220.

“For the long-term investors, ignore the noise to come. Shares have suffered through the worst and should break out in due time. It just may not be this time.”

Key Items to Watch: Broadcom’s recent news could be highlighted by the company during the earnings report and conference call and could also factor into future guidance.

The company recently announced the official launch of VMware Tanzu CloudHealth’s latest enhancements, including a redesigned user experience and new AI-driven features.

The company also recently announced it had started shipping the Tomahawk 6 switch series, which is built to power the next generation of AI networks.

AI will be one of the most watched segments for the company’s financial results. In the first quarter, AI revenue was up 77% year-over-year to $4.1 billion. Broadcom CEO Hock Tan predicted second-quarter AI revenue would grow to $4.4 billion.

What Analysts Are Saying: Goldman Sachs analyst Kate McShane gave Dollar Tree a Buy rating and $86 price target ahead of the earnings report after positive commentary from management on the impact of tariffs.

McShane said Dollar Tree management said tariffs typically take three to four months, or more than a quarter, to impact inventory, which could provide a buffer before tariffs impact financial results.

She added that Dollar Tree’s pricing and cost strategies could help offset tariff impact and maintain the company’s value offerings.

McShane said Dollar Tree showed strength in the fourth quarter and that could continue into the first quarter results. She said the company’s sale of Family Dollar could improve free cash flow.

Citi Research analyst Paul Lejuez upgraded Dollar Tree stock ahead of the earnings report, raising it from a Neutral rating to a Buy rating and a $103 price target.

The analyst said Dollar Tree could be one of the “silent beneficiaries’ of the tariff trade.

Lejuez said higher tariffs could enable Dollar Tree to raise its prices from its $1.25 standard price to $1.50 or even $1.75, which would boost margins. While it would help offset some higher costs, he said, it would allow the company to raise prices without as much blowback as doing this in a non-tariff impacted time.

Key Items to Watch: Dollar Tree’s financial results come a day after rival Dollar General Corporation (NYSE:DG) reported quarterly results and guidance.

Dollar General beat analyst estimates for sales and earnings per share and saw strength in same-store sales during the quarter.

Perhaps more importantly, Dollar General’s guidance was higher than before, with the company cautious on tariffs but showing updated expectations after the first-quarter outperformance. The company raised its full-year sales growth range from 3.4% to 4.4% to a new range of 3.7% to 4.7%. The company also raised its full-year earnings per share range from $5.10 to $5.80 to a new range of $5.20 to $5.80.

A strong quarter for Dollar General could be good news for Dollar Tree, assuming it did not lose market share and that discount retailers took share from big-box retailers.

A Placer.ai report showed Dollar General’s visitor growth of 1.9% in the first quarter, compared to Dollar Tree’s +4.8 %.

Dollar Tree’s growth in each of the first three quarters of the year outperformed Dollar General for visitor growth in the Placer.ai report.

For the month of April, the report showed Dollar General visitors up 6.5% year-over-year, compared to Dollar Tree, which saw a 21.2% increase, a number that could factor into Dollar Tree’s guidance.

Another key item to watch is Dollar Tree’s sale of the Family Dollar business for $1 billion and how it will impact the company’s future financials.

“In the fourth quarter, our team was focused on successfully closing out the year, bringing the strategic review to a favorable conclusion, and setting Dollar Tree on a path to realize its full potential to create long-term value for our associates, customers, and shareholders,” said CEO Mike Creedon.

The company provided updated full-year guidance based on the sale of Dollar Tree with sales estimates set at a range of $18.5 billion and $19.1 billion and earnings per share of $5.00 to $5.50.

Analysts and investors will be closely watching to see if guidance has changed going forward.

Tariffs will be another key topic that analysts and investors are watching as Dollar Tree was one of the first retailers to speak out about potential higher prices for consumers as a result.

The company also said at the time that it could change product specs and pack sizes and stop selling unprofitable items to offset tariffs.

Dollar General’s earnings report showed strength and a potential lower than expected impact from tariffs. Dollar Tree may highlight how it is getting around tariffs and commentary that could impress investors and analysts.

DLTR Price Action: Dollar Tree stock is up 3.5% to $94.41 on Tuesday versus a 52-week trading range of $60.49 to $121.96. Dollar Tree stock is up 23.4% year-to-date in 2025, while shares are down 22% over the last year.

For comparison, Dollar General stock was up 12.5% to $109.35 on Tuesday, following the company’s financial results. Dollar General stock is up 44.6% year-to-date in 2025, but shares are down 22% over the last year.

According to Benzinga Pro, NIO missed analyst estimates for revenue in four straight quarters and six of the last seven quarters overall,

Analysts also anticipate a loss of 37 cents per share, compared to a loss of 33 cents per share in last year’s first quarter, as reported by GuruFocus. The company has beaten analyst earnings per share in four of the last six quarters overall.

Key Items to Watch: NIO delivered 89,225 vehicles year-to-date, a figure that is up 34.7% from last year.

For May, the EV company reported:

• I23,231 vehicles delivered, up 13.1% year-over-year.
• 13,270 Nio brand deliveries,
• 6,281 ONVO deliveries
• 3,680 FIREFLY deliveries.

In April, the company reported 23,900 deliveries, which is up 53% compared to last year. ONVO deliveries were 4,400, and FIREFLY had begun the initial deliveries.

ONVO and FIREFLY, the company’s family-oriented and smaller high-end vehicles, respectively, are contributing to its strong delivery growth.

These new brands allow Nio to target more consumers and come after the company led the way as the top electric vehicle company in China for vehicles priced over RMB300,000.

ONVO brand, targeting the mainstream mass market, will concentrate on increasing its sales volume and enriching its product portfolio. Firefly’s model will be officially launched and begin deliveries in April, serving as a key driver for our future international expansion,” Nio CEO William Bin Li said after fourth-quarter results.

With deliveries already reported for April and May, investors and analysts will likely focus on the company’s guidance for the rest of the fiscal year and any commentary on tariffs.

Chinese stocks like Nio have been highly volatile due to tariffs placed on imports into the U.S. A recent pause to higher tariffs on Chinese imports has helped boost Chinese stocks temporarily.

Dollar General saw same-store sales up 1.2% year-over-year in the fourth quarter, helped by an increase in the average transaction amount.

A Placer.ai report showed that Dollar General saw visits up 1.9% year-over-year. This included a 6.6% increase in January and 1.0% increase in March with a -1.5% drop in visits in February. The monthly data was lower than Dollar Tree visits, which could be an item to watch for potential market share loss.

Guidance will also be key with some retailers pulling guidance due to tariffs and macroeconomic concerns. The Placer.ai report showed Dollar General April visits up 6.5% year-over-year.

Dollar General’s quarterly results will come one day before rival Dollar Tree Inc (NASDAQ:DLTR) reports its own results. Investors will have two reports from discount retailers to help gauge the impact of tariffs.

Dollar Tree — known for items priced $1, or $1.25 now thanks to recent inflation — warned consumers about higher prices due to tariffs.

Other retailers, like Walmart, have alerted customers of rising prices, drawing the ire of President Donald Trump.

DG Price Action: Dollar General stock is down 0.09% to $97.16 on Monday versus a 52-week trading range of $66.43 to $141.24. Dollar General stock is up 29.6% year-to-date in 2025.

In a new poll, Benzinga viewers predict whether the company will beat or miss analysts’ revenue and earnings per share estimates.

Benzinga Poll Predictions: Analysts expect Nvidia to report first-quarter revenue of $43.54 billion, up from $26.04 billion in last year’s first quarter, according to data from Benzinga Pro.

Analysts expect Nvidia to report first-quarter earnings per share of 88 cents, up from 61 cents per share in last year’s first quarter.

During Benzinga’s “PreMarket Playbook” daily show, viewers were asked to predict if Nvidia would beat or miss the above expectations.

The results were:

• Beat revenue, Beat EPS: 65%
• Beat revenue, Miss EPS: 20%
• Miss revenue, Miss EPS: 8%
• Miss revenue, Beat EPS: 4%

The poll, which received 102 responses, found that the majority of viewers predict Nvidia will post a double beat, with revenue and earnings per share figures each coming in above analyst estimates. Only 8% of viewers predict a double miss, with both figures missing analyst estimates.

Twenty-four percent of viewers see a mixed result, with 20% predicting a revenue beat and EPS miss and 4% predicting an EPS beat and revenue miss.

Split by reporting figures, 85% of viewers said Nvidia will beat revenue estimates; 69% said that Nvidia will beat EPS estimates.

Nvidia has beaten analyst estimates for revenue in 10 straight quarters and analyst estimates for earnings per share in nine straight quarters.

Past Poll Results: The results of the Nvidia poll and prediction of a double beat by the majority of viewers come after polls for viewers of the same morning show produced correct predictions for other Magnificent Seven stocks.

In April, Benzinga readers correctly predicted that Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) would miss analyst estimates in the first quarter.

A poll found 68% of viewers predicting a miss, 19% predicting a beat and 11% predicting in-line figures. Tesla missed both revenue and earnings per share estimates from analysts in the quarter.

Viewers of “PreMarket Playbook” also predicted Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) would beat estimates in the second quarter. The poll was closer, with 30% predicting a beat, 27% predicting mixed results, 26% predicting a miss, and 15% not sure.

Apple narrowly beat earnings per share estimates from analysts and beat revenue estimates for the second quarter.

Time will tell if Benzinga viewers are once again correct and Nvidia posts a double-beat Wednesday after the market closes.

Analysts expect Nvidia to report first-quarter earnings per share of 88 cents, up from 61 cents per share in last year’s first quarter. The company has beaten analyst estimates for earnings per share in nine straight quarters.

What Experts Are Saying: Nvidia stock could be flat to down heading into the earnings report due to macro uncertainty and a ban on the H20 AI chip in China, Piper Sandler analyst Harsh Kumar said in a new investor note ahead of Q1 results.

“The new re-spun China chip will likely be commercialized in the late part of the July quarter, which could also impact July’s guide,” he said, reiterating an Overweight rating and $150 price target on Nvidia.

Kumar said most of the factors that could hurt Nvidia’s first quarter are outside the company’s control. The analyst sees a strong back half of the year coming for Nvidia with macro forces improving.

“We advise investors to weather the uncertainty and stay long the stock as this is likely largely the last wave of negative news for NVDA this year.”

Freedom Capital Markets Chief Global Strategist Jay Woods said there are three main things investors will be watching and listening for in Nvidia’s report.

Woods called Nvidia “the poster child for all that is AI.”

Woods said the three things that will be most watched are sales of the Blackwell chip, the export restrictions on China, and guidance.

“Government restrictions have limited Nvidia’s ability to export certain AI chips, like the H20, to China, potentially affecting revenue,” Woods said in his weekly newsletter.

The market strategist said investors will be looking at Nvidia’s guidance to see how the giant can navigate this setback, including potential new, compliant chip variants for the Chinese market.

After a history of raising projections for future earnings, Woods questions if the trend can continue given the growth concerns, global competition, and inflation concerns Nvidia faces.

The company posted a 12% quarter-over-quarter sales increase in the fourth quarter, with sales up 78% year-over-year. Given the tougher comps, triple-digit growth is likely gone, and eventually, this growth forecast could continue to fall.

Data Center segment revenue hit another record in the fourth quarter, with $35.6 billion, up 93% year over year.

The fourth quarter saw Data Center carry the company with Gaming & AI PC segment revenue down 11% year-over-year and Professional Visualization revenue up 10% year-over-year. The company’s automotive segment saw strong overall year-over-year growth of 103% in the quarter, but it was the smallest segment by revenue ($570 million).

Another area to watch could be any talk about competition. Chip competitor AMD recently unveiled the Radeon RX 9060 XT and Radeon AI Pro R9700 graphics cards. The new graphics cards will bring AI capabilities to workstations and gamers worldwide and increase AMD’s competition with Nvidia.

Tech reviewer Tom’s Guide said the RX 9060 XT’s release is a “direct shot” at Nvidia’s RTX 5060. The reviewer believes AMD’s product could “hit the bullseye” in the competitive race.

While Nvidia likely won’t comment on the competition, it could provide keywords and highlight how its products are the best on the market.

Another area to watch with Nvidia’s stock report will be if other peer companies go higher or lower on the news. Nvidia’s post-earnings move will also have a large impact on several of the most-watched stock market indexes and ETFs.

Nvidia is the second-largest holding of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:SPY), with a 6.5% weighting. A sharp decline in Nvidia’s stock price due to guidance could send the overall S&P 500 and ETFs lower on the week.

Nvidia is the second-largest holding of the Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:QQQ), with an 8.3% weighting.

The stock is also a member of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, but due to the index being price-weighted, it makes up a smaller percentage and holding in ETFs, like being the 23rd largest holding in the SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF (NYSE:DIA) and 1.9% of assets.

NVDA Price Action: Nvidia stock was up 3.2% to $135.44 on Tuesday, versus a 52-week trading range of $86.63 to $153.13. However, it is down 2.2% year-to-date in 2025, while shares have increased over 18% in the last year.

Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) could provide a gauge for consumer spending and the impact of tariffs when the company reports its first-quarter financial results before the market opens Wednesday.

Here are the earnings estimates, what analysts are saying ahead of the report and key items to watch.

Telsey Advisory Group analyst Joseph Feldman reiterated an Outperform rating on Target and lowered the price target from $145 to $130 ahead of the report.

The analyst said Target’s quarterly report could show weaker consumer spending, particularly in areas like general merchandise and discretionary items.

Feldman also cautioned about rising costs due to promotions, increased labor costs, higher-tech investments, and the impact of tariffs.

The analyst said Target gets around 50% of its cost of goods sold from within the United States, with around 30% from China. Target could use items like vendor negotiations, sourcing diversification and price increases to offset the tariff impact, he said.

Target reported sales down 3.1% in the fourth quarter, with comparable sales up 1.5%. Based on a Placer.ai report, the company could be in for another down sales quarter.

The report said Target visits were down 4.1% in the first quarter, compared to a 2.4% drop for Walmart. Both figures are based on a year-over-year basis. Target’s visits were up 3.5% year-over-year in January, with declines of 9.1% and 6.5% in February and March.

In April, Target visits were down 3.3% year-over-year, compared to a 4.5% gain for Walmart.

The company trailed Walmart’s year-over-year performance in each of the months except for January.

Target’s previous guidance called for full-year sales growth of 1% with comparable sales flat. The company warned that the first quarter could experience year-over-year profit challenges due to tariffs, the timing of expenses and consumer uncertainty.

Investors and analysts will be watching to see if Target maintains its full-year guidance or pulls back due to a weak quarter and/or more uncertainty ahead.

TGT Price Action: Target stock was up 0.3% to $98.29 on Tuesday, versus a 52-week trading range of $87.35 to $167.40. However, it is down 28% year-to-date in 2025 and over 37% in the last year.

Home improvement retailer The Home Depot (NYSE:HD) could be a gauge for the do-it-yourself growth in the era of high home prices and mortgage rates when the company reports first-quarter financial results Tuesday before market open.

Here are the earnings estimates, what experts are saying ahead of the report, and the key items to watch for.

Earnings Estimates: Analysts expect the company to report first-quarter revenue of $39.33 billion, up from $36.42 billion in last year’s first quarter, according to data from Benzinga Pro.

The company has beaten analyst estimates for revenue in two straight quarters and six of the last 10 quarters overall.

What Experts Are Saying: While Home Depot showed signs of improvement in April, the delay of the Spring season could lead to lower comparable sales, JPMorgan analyst Christopher Horvers said in a recent investor note.

The analyst reiterated an Overweight rating on Home Depot and lowered the price target from $470 to $410.

Horvers is cautious on the company’s gross margins for the quarter, while seeing positives like inventory shrink likely coming in the report.

The analyst said macro economic uncertainty will also likely weigh on higher-ticket spending in the report and the future. Horvers said the home improvement retailer will likely keep its guidance in place and revisit things after the second quarter report.

Freedom Capital Markets Chief Global Strategist Jay Woods said Home Depot’s report comes as the stock has struggled year-to-date.

“Home Depot results will give a peek at how the DIY home retail investor is changing their spending habits,” Woods said in a weekly newsletter.

Woods said investors will be looking to see if Home Depot revises its guidance given higher interest rates and economic challenges.

Goldman Sachs analyst Kate McShane has a Buy rating on Home Depot and $421 price target ahead of the report.

The analyst said the company won’t be widely impacted by tariffs in the short term, with most of its imported goods being seasonal and spring merchandise already in inventory at stores.

In the past, Home Depot helped offset tariff impacts by sourcing alternative items and adjusting operations, McShane said in the note.

The analyst highlighted Home Depot’s management commentary about home buyers likely sidelined with rates in the 6% to 6.5% range.

Home Depot CEO Ted Decker was among the retail CEOs who met with President Donald Trump to share concerns about the impact tariffs could have on the sector.

Investors and analysts will be watching to see if Home Depot can maintain its momentum from the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, sales were up 14.1% year over year, and customer transactions were up 7.6% year over year.

A recent Placer.ai report indicates that Home Depot saw fewer visits during the first quarter. The report said visits to Home Depot fell 3.8% in the first quarter on a year-over-year basis. The report showed visits down 2.3%, 9.2% and 0.7% in the months of January, February and March respectively.

Visits were down 1.8% year-over-year in April, which could factor into second-quarter and full-year guidance. Placer.ai said the good news is that last year’s peak weekly visits came in mid-May, which could be a sign of optimism for the current quarter.

Home Depot’s report comes one day before rival Lowe’s Companies (NYSE:LOW), which reports on Wednesday. The report from Home Depot could make Lowe’s shares volatile as they operate in the same sector and could indicate what’s to come in Lowe’s report.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average could also be volatile following Home Depot’s report. Home Depot is one of the 30 components of the closely watched market index. Since the Dow Jones is price-weighted, Home Depot is one of the larger components and currently the third largest weighting (5.5%) of the SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust (NYSE:DIA).

Higher mortgage rates have often helped home improvement retailers, as they lead to more do-it-yourself home projects and spending money on existing homes rather than buying a new one.

HD Price Action: Home Depot stock trades at $379.91 Monday versus a 52-week trading range of $323.77 to $439.37. Home Depot stock is down 2.2% year-to-date and up 12.5% over the last year, outpacing a 4.5% year-to-date decline and 2.8% one-year gain for rival Lowe’s.
